Founded in 1841, it is a hofje, an inner courtyard that originally housed elderly women of good morals and singles. Founded in 1841 by Elisabeth Groen van Pinksterer-van er Hoop, this inner courtyard is a true haven of peace in the heart of the city. The building was restored in the 1980s under the direction of the architect Ton Deurloo.
