A statue unveiled in 2017, a work by artist Thom Pucky in The Hague
This statue, unveiled in 2017, is the work of artist Thom Puckey. On one side, it depicts Thorbecke, father of the Dutch Constitution, seated at his desk, looking towards the office of the Prime Minister of the Netherlands (the famous "little tower"). On the other side, two men are chatting at a table, while a woman is also taking part in the discussion, but seated differently. "By letting the woman sit with her buttocks on the table, I immediately give her an equal place in society," says the artist.
