STEDELIJK MUSEUM - MUNICIPAL MUSEUM
Nice museum that exhibits engravings and paintings of very good small masters of the golden century, including beautiful views of the Alkmaar of the time
Housed in the former 17th-century Archers' Guildhall, this attractive museum exhibits engravings and paintings by some of the finest masters of the Golden Age, including fine views of Alkmaar at the time, as well as a collection of turn-of-the-century photographs. The first floor features contemporary works. But the best of all is to be found on the top floor, in the attic: a room dedicated to childhood features a fine collection of old toys.
