The building has a long history: it was a monastery in the 14th century, known as the "German House", and a military hospital from 1823 to 1990. The hotel's name comes from Charles V, who stayed here with his sister Mary of Hungary to attend the chapter of the Order of the Golden Fleece in 1546. Today, the hotel offers luxurious rooms with all the comforts you'd expect from a 5-star hotel. It also features a wellness center with hammam and swimming pool, as well as a brasserie and Michelin-starred restaurant.
