A friendly and popular Art Nouveau-style café: yet another address that the Netherlands in general, and Utrecht in particular, hold the secret to! A very pretty facade with carved woodwork, a unique and historic atmosphere. The menu is simple but well-designed, and not too expensive, which suits student budgets. You can eat here, of course, but it's mainly for a drink, especially beer (which flows freely!). At the back, the terrace overlooks the quayside of the Oudegracht.
