Typical charming houses in Utrech, former free dwellings with a nice garden, in the 17th century.
On the other side of the Malie-Singel canal, in Rue Bruntenhof, you'll see some 15 small brick houses, accompanied by a larger one. In addition to their typical charm, the interest of these buildings lies in what they represented in the 17th century: free housing. This is a precursor to today's social housing. Historically, they were intended for destitute widows. The complex's garden is particularly pleasant and full of flowers.
