A treasure not to be missed! Here you'll find a hofje like no other: the Roodeweeshuis or Burgerweeshuis, first a cloister, then an orphanage. The origins of the orphanage date back to 1599. The surviving portal dates back to 1627. The particularity of this place lies in its renovation and enlargement. The 1989 restoration is an explosive blend of ancient and modern, and it's truly an inspired project that has made it possible to accommodate a 55-home retirement home.
