STADHUIS - CITY HALL
The Dutch neoclassical town hall on the main square, with a beautiful entrance hall with paintings
The Town Hall is located on the city's Grand-Place. The building was designed by Jacob Otten Husly in the Dutch neoclassical style. It took a long time to build, starting in 1792 and not being inaugurated until 1810. In the 1960s, an annex was inaugurated, then quickly demolished to be replaced by the Natalini complex. The façade features a plaque commemorating the Liberation of 1945. The entrance hall features beautiful paintings.
