GOUDKANTOOR
A building with a richly decorated façade, one of the most illustrious in the city, in Renaissance style, with shell motifs
This building with its richly decorated facade dates back to 1635. The name goudkantoor was not given until the 19th century, when it was used as a place for punching metals(goud means "gold", kantoor, "office"). It is one of the city's most illustrious buildings. Renaissance in style, it features shell motifs above the doors and windows. In the 20th century, it housed several museums before becoming the tourist office and now a café. The building is also part of Madurodam, the country's miniature museum.
