OSSENMARKT - CATTLE MARKET
A square used as a cattle market, with many beautiful facades of patrician houses all around
Located just outside the historic center, the Ossenmarkt dates back to the 17th century. Until 1892, it served as a cattle market, hence its name. Although several buildings were destroyed during the Second World War, the area has retained its charm of yesteryear: it is surrounded by many fine facades of patrician houses. Its western part is now known as Guyotplein, adding a new dimension to this place full of history.
