A beautiful neoclassical building in Groningen, with imposing sculptures of Neptune
Korenbeurs, a superb neoclassical building, now houses a supermarket. It's worth a visit, however, to admire the superb architecture. The façade, built between 1862 and 1865, replaced two other, more modest facades. Note the imposing sculptures of Neptune, Ceres and Mercury. Inside, admire the imposing steel structure and magnificent glass roof. This is probably Albert Heijn's most unlikely location in the Netherlands!
