Museum aan de A is located in the Gothic building "Het Gotische Huis en het Canterhuis", succeeding the Maritime Museum of the North, now closed after 90 years of loyal service. Its aim: to present the city, the province and the lives of Groningen's (extra) ordinary inhabitants, as well as stories about shipping, since maritime transport remains an important part of the northern Netherlands. Currently under renovation, the museum will open its doors in 2026. It will feature a permanent collection as well as temporary exhibitions.
