PRINSENTUIN
Prince's garden in Groningen with a beautiful sundial with the Latin inscription, with letters carved in the hedges
At the entrance to the garden, you'll admire the superb sundial with the Latin inscription "The past is nothing, the future is uncertain and the present is unstable". The Prince's Garden was laid out in 1624 as a rose and herb garden. A stroll will take you to some superb cradles. You'll then reach the rear of the Prinsenhof, where you'll admire a superb gate surmounted by a bull's eye. You'll see two letters carved into the hedges: a W (for the stadhouder, Willem Frederik) and an A (for his wife, Albertine Agnes).
