A walk along the Nieuwestad, stopping to admire the Waag and continuing along the Naauw and the Over de Kelders (sometimes indicated O.D. Kelders on maps) is a must. Number 33 is the birthplace of the sultry Margaretha Geertruida Zelle, better known as Mata Hari. A few meters away, a statue of her (dressed) dancing was inaugurated a century after her birth in 1976.
