SINT AMORSPLEIN
A charming little square with a statue dedicated to Sint Amor, with a beautiful atmosphere, a place where it is good to stroll
A charming little square featuring a statue dedicated to Sint Amor. According to legend, he was a priest from Aquitaine who first settled in Rome, then lived as a hermit in Munster Bilzen (Belgium) and later near the Basilica of Saint Servais in Maastricht. He died in Maastricht during a pilgrimage and was buried in a chapel on the present-day square. The statue dates from 1951. It's a great place to stroll, with plenty of temptations (cafés, shopping). Great atmosphere.
