A lovely marina the 'T Bassin, located about ten minutes walk from the Markt square, installed in Maastricht
It's a delightful marina just a ten-minute walk from the Markt square. The port was built in 1825 on the orders of King William I to stimulate trade, shipping and industry. It provides access to the Meuse via a lock. The district flourished with a number of industries, notably porcelain (Sphinx) and paper (Sappi). The basin was renovated in the 1990s, and the cellars are now home to top-quality restaurants with pleasant terraces.
