FULL 1992
A square with a group of modern buildings, cafés, terraces, a theater and a supermarket in Maastricht.
A series of modern buildings (including the ceramic center), cafés, terraces, a theater, a supermarket... have been erected on this rather unglamorous square. It owes its name to the date of signature of the Treaty on European Union, which established the introduction of the euro as the single currency in a number of European countries. A bronze slab features the euro sign. While it's worth discovering for its historical interest, this Place du Plein 1992 is unfortunately devoid of charm and doesn't deserve to be visited for too long..
