Piet Hein Eek, an alumnus of Eindhoven's prestigious Design Academy, is a leading figure in contemporary design. He has transformed former Philips industrial wasteland into a multi-functional complex in Strijp-R, a leafy residential area mixed with industrial complexes. Once the Philips ceramics workshop, where parts for radios and televisions were created, it is now a dynamic place combining workshops, a boutique, manufacturing spaces, a gallery, meeting rooms for hire, restaurants and a hotel. The boutique, spread over several levels, offers a unique experience where visitors can admire the masterpieces of recent Dutch design, as well as creations from other horizons. The second floor houses a brasserie and gallery space where you can enjoy a coffee while exploring the works on display. Piet Hein Eek is renowned for his furniture made from reclaimed wood, which he uses as a new form of marquetry. Visitors can watch the teams at work, adding an immersive dimension to the visit.

The first floor is overflowing with accessories, decorative items and fun gadgets, not only from his workshops, but also from various designers.
