The Mastbos, a 570-hectare forest south of Breda, is home to buzzards, hawks, grey herons and nuthatches
Mastbos is a 570-hectare forest south of Breda, over 500 years old. It's a park whose reputation extends far beyond Breda. Its name comes from the many conifers that grow here. Its origins date back to the 16th century. It provided timber for the construction of Breda Castle, as well as for the masts of East India Company ships. Nature here is rich and varied, with buzzards, sparrow hawks, grey herons and nuthatches to be seen. Ideal for cycling or walking.
