FERME DE LA GRANDE ABBAYE
6 km from Bayeux and 15 km from the beaches of landing, on this farm, ancient abbey of the th and th centuries, the cidricole culture is a heritage of three generations. Suzanne and Michel Letouzé are committed to survival according to techniques very close to those of the past, the manufacture of their natural cider, from an orchard, untreated and planted with 5 hectares of high-stem apple trees and 2 hectares of low-stem apple trees. A detour by the domain on the road of your holidays and you will do with them the owner's turn: visit of the cellar and the press with explanations about the evolution of manufacturing methods, from the old manège manège to a horse (still visible) to the latest electric furnaces and pneumatic press. The visit ends, as it should, by a tasting of stuffy cider and brut cidre cider, a vintage of which was winner of the European General Competition (Master of Gold) in 1999. Located in a remarkable historical setting, the estate also offers a camping formula on the farm. Here, it's a good bowl of air, a true taste of authenticity and honesty that we don't get tired of. Michel, intarrisable, you will tell us better than we the history of his land. The land where he was born and where he lived the war. He will tell you a life of toil, nourished by courage, know-how and passion.
