ZARIF DESIGN

Zoleykha Sherzad, an Afghan living in the United States, created Zarif Design («Zarif» means «precious» in Dari) in 2004 to promote Afghan culture abroad through… clothing. The aim is to propose collections that combine Western cuts and traditional Afghan motives. The brand relies on the know-how of Afghan young people trained in fashion design and sewing by ngos, notably by the French organization Afghanistan Free. Zarif Design also opened workshops and stores in Dubai, New York and Paris.
