TEPPE MARANJAN, OR THE HILL WITH THE KITES
It is on this hill that some members of the royal family are buried. At the top of the hill, the central grave is that of Nadir Shah, assassinated in 1933. Left, is the wife of the wife of Zaher Shah, who died in Rome before he could return home. Right, that of the mother of Zaher Shah. The other graves are those of other members of the Royal family. The mausoleum of Nadir Shah has obviously suffered from war.
This hill is also the preferred place for kite enthusiasts. On Friday, many kaboulies families come here to walk, while small and large are fun with their kites. This is the occasion for a pleasant walk with a wonderful view over Kabul.
