NATIONAL GALLERY
The National Gallery consists of a collection of 430 paintings that belonged to the Royal Family. Most of the artists exhibited are Afghan painters. On one of these paintings, you can see Dr Two on his horse. According to legend, this man was the only surviving Survivor of the English in Jalalabad in 1841. On the floor, aquarelles represent the most famous sites in Afghanistan: Jam minaret, Massoud's tomb of Ghazni, etc. Many other paintings tell the defeats inflicted by Afghans on the British over time. A room is devoted to portraits of the royal family. To say the truth, the collection is not really exceptional, but the house deserves the move. It is a large green and white villa renovated in the early 2000 s. The National Gallery was inaugurated in March 2002 by President Hamid Karzai. You can buy postcards there.
