This is where the famous frescoes were painted, today in security at the National museum in Kabul and at the Guimet Museum in Paris. A 6,4 m high Buddha was also there until 2001, when the Taliban were destroyed. We also see the ruins of a tower of custody. Even though there is hardly anything left today, this visit is particularly moving, like that of the site of the giant Buddhas.
