The road connecting Mazar to Andhoy is new. It is, for once, a real pleasure to drive: tar, signposts, kilométrages, etc. The landscape offers new scenes: houses with all round roofs in the desert plains where small tufts are pushing grass, camel caravans carrying goods, goats, etc. We are in the Plains of Turkestan. On the road connecting Mazar to Sheberghan, we see the true desert.
