THE PALACE OF SULTAN MASSUD III
Go there and contact
This palace was built in 1112 by Sultan Massud, one of Afghanistan's most famous conquerors, born in Ghazni in 1061 and reigned from 1099 to 1114. This magnificent palace included a royal room, mosque, military districts and administrative buildings. The large inner courtyard was paved with marble slabs.
At that time, this palace symbolized the entire splendour of the kingdom. Between 1956 and 1964, it was restored by a mission of Italian archaeologists. But, as of 1979, the palace, which was located in a military area, was devastated and looted. There is little left in its splendour.
