SOPYRWA HORIZON PYRETHRUM PLANT

It was in 1936 that the extract culture began in Rwanda. This natural insecticide was discovered during the First World War, when soldiers camped one evening in a pyrèthres field. In the morning, the chips they were infested with were all dead… The first industrial installations date back to 1972. Interrupted in 1994, production is again booming and lives for thousands of farmers. Extract is grown over 2 000 m, not only in Rwanda, but also in Tanzania, Kenya and Australia.
