Rwanda tin is 99.80% pure and contains no copper, antimony or lead alloys. It can therefore be used safely in cooking and will retain its brilliance. All products, from tableware to statuettes and other decorative objects, are handmade. The caretaker of the premises, Callixte Baributsa, offers a very complete visit of the workshops to follow the work of the pewter, from the casting to the exhibition in the shop, including the stages of burnishing, soldering, polishing and punching.

Handicraft with a large " A".
An essential stop on the Butare trip to Nyungwe (matching GPS: 2° 33 ' 51.05" S - 29° 43 ' 25.05" E).
5 km after the crossroads of Butare, the etainery are indicated on the line of the street by a white sign with blue and black writing.
A big thank you with the protector of the place, Callixte Baributsa, for the full tour of the workshops where we could follow the work of tin, the cast to the exhibition in the shop via the stages of browning, the welding, polishing and punching.

Le personnel est dépité et ne sait plus où vendre leur dernière marchandise.
Faire disparaître un tel artisanat est un vrai scandale. C'était une des raretés du rwanda.
