In Aljezur, an entire weekend is devoted to sweet potatoes and the percebe (barnacle), which is very common in the Algarve.

A great autumn gastronomic festival, a whole weekend in honor of the sweet potato (Aljezur and the surrounding area is the largest production zone for this sweet-tasting vegetable). In addition to live preparation of recipes by renowned chefs and cooking competitions, a hundred or so exhibitors round off the festivities to the sound of music. The dessert competition is one of the highlights of the festival. There are also a number of activities for children, including face painting and balloon modelling.

Différentes variétés de patate douce cuites au feu de bois à découvrir, mais aussi le pouce-pied que nous trouvons aussi sur nos côtes bretonnes. Ce fruit de mer ressemble à une griffe rattachée à une manche noire : il faut détacher la griffe pour déguster la chair dans la manche. C'est vraiment délicieux!
