ANTONIANO MUSEUM
Museum with a chapel in honor of Saint Antonio, housing numerous documents tracing the history of Portugal's saints.
This museum was created where there was a chapel in honour of Saint Anthony, the patron saint of Lisbon. It is dedicated to him with an important number of documents tracing the history of the most important saints of Portugal. The chapel was built in 1628, the year in which the Confraria do bem Aventurado Santo Antonio was authorized by King D. Philip III of Spain. From 1809, the chapel was used as a house until it was acquired by the town council of Alzejur, which decided to pay homage to Saint Anthony, who was highly venerated in Portugal.
