Perched atop a cliff overlooking the sea, the Bela Vista is the hotel that catches the eye when you arrive in Praia da Rocha. The manor house was built in 1918 as a holiday home. In 2006, the current owners bought it and renovated it until it reopened in 2011 with a third outbuilding. The result is splendid, and the hotel is part of the Relais & Châteaux network. The suites and restaurant offer breathtaking views of the golden rocks, the interior is cosy and refined, the decor eclectic and unusual - everything is royal!

Please don’t make the same mistake and stay in this expensive goldfish bowl.
Breakfasts buffet was very well done with lots of options and tasty hot dishes. Tea selection was more like a 3 star hotel.
Pool area was pleasant. Sauna and steam room were well maintained.
The gym was four cardio machines and a few mats. No free weights or other resistance machines.
Only one charge point for all the rooms at the hotel - very poor.
