Perched atop a cliff overlooking the sea, the Bela Vista is the hotel that catches the eye when you arrive in Praia da Rocha. The manor house was built in 1918 as a holiday home. In 2006, the current owners bought it and renovated it until it reopened in 2011 with a third outbuilding. The result is splendid, and the hotel is part of the Relais & Châteaux network. The suites and restaurant offer breathtaking views of the golden rocks, the interior is cosy and refined, the decor eclectic and unusual - everything is royal!

I have to imagine there are more romantic places than Bela Vista along the coast. I would not recommend to a friend.
It’s unfortunate that such a beautiful and historical place with an exceptional staff is located near strip clubs, casinos, night clubs, and trashy souvenir stores.
