HEAVY CASTLE
Castle in Silves, overlooking the hills, with inner courtyard and cistern system from the Reconquista era.
Undoubtedly one of the best preserved fortresses in the whole southern part of the country. This castle was used for centuries in prison (the last time in the 1940s, when Salazar's secret police officers were still torturing people there using good old medieval methods). Today you will see a well restored inner courtyard and a whole system of cisterns dating back to the Reconquista era, such as the Cisterna da Moura. The Cisterna dos Cães is said to date back to Roman times. From the top of the building, very beautiful view of the hills.

il est un vibrant témoignage mais rien de plus , de beaux créneaux et il surplombe la ville
a l'opposé de la rivière sur la colline un beau moulin à vent
