The breakfast and dinners were amazing. Hotel staff were great. Bed and room weren't the greatest. Location was really good

This hotel is very reasonably priced, (try booking direct as well), well worth paying that little bit extra for the sea view, nothing nicer than seeing a glorious view in the morning and at night, but that's not the best thing about the hotel, the staff they are what makes it 5* for me , polite, friendly, helpful, not intrusive but aware if needed, respectful and happy. From the front deck to dining room, to the cleaning ladies (and boy do they clean , nothing out of place , kept immaculate, spotless), to the gardener/pool cleaner, everyone enjoys there work and are proud to serve there customers. Now the decor is a little dated, but it holds a charm about it that once you explore the corridors and its unique layout, the hidden gems, the wooden furniture, games rooms , the fresh flowers arrangement, and little seasonal touchs that show that they care. The breakfast (I stayed as b&b) has a wide variety to suit all tastes, and plenty of seating options, always topped up, staff here are quick, quite, efficient & attentive. Pool s well maintained, we weren't at full capacity, so I could see the sunbeds getting full early. The far right-hand side holds the last of the sun for all-day bathing. Got a tour of the amazing 5th floor the Marrakesh suite is unreal (that something special, honeymoon, anniversary, or just a treat, booked out a lot so book early), but really special the views best in Albufeira. The whole 5th floor rooms are spacious , luxury suite, a little more expensive but book via hotel for best price. Now lastly the Spa, Sarah the local beauty therapist is marvellous, my skin after her glowing, she could easily charge more, wonderful grab a treatment deal form Jose at reception (I love this guy, he is so nice).
The owners could invest in some refurbishment, but you don't want this hotel to be a corporate same , same, designed, its authenticity, is its quality, its staff are its biggest asset. 150% . Note not man photos of inside hotel because I was too busy enjoying it and my friend is in some and doesn't want her face shown.

First time staying at the boa vista and this side of town as we normally stay near the strip.
Not any more, much more our scene this side. Boa vista is well located between the marina and just on the outskirts of the old town, both within walking distance albeit either steps of a hill to contend with.
Ubers are relatively cheap if you'd rather not walk.
We had asked for a nice view if possible due to us been away celebrating an anniversary and the hotel didn't let us down
In the morning the sunset lit up our room and we had a fantastic view of the sea and the pool.
The hotel also provided a bottle of bubbly and fresh strawberries complimentary as a anniversary gift, what a lovely gesture.
We opted for bed and breakfast during our stay so no self catering facilities in the room , I would recommend taking a travel kettle if you want to make drinks in the room.
Check in was straight forward but our room was not quite ready as a hen party was just checking out and I think they delayed thing getting our of the rooms late.
Not a problem for us as we popped to the supermarket down the steps next to the pool and a couple of hundred yards to the right.
Breakfast in the mornings was buffet style with everything you could ask for, fresh fruit, cereal and cooked breakfast.
They even had hp sauce.
The hotel also has spa facilities and we used the sauna, had a look around the gym and Turkish baths all at no extra cost.
The pool was clean and tidy with plenty of sun beds in fact most of the time we had it to ourselves but remember this was late February so may be different at peak.
All the staff were excellent and couldn't do enough.
We will book again and hope for a similar room and experience.

A good time was had here at Boa Vista. You get what you pay for. The location is near to the Marina and 10-15 minutes from the beach. There is a local shop 2 minutes away and plenty of bars and restaurants in "the square".
Be mindful of the steps if staying in a room on the lower part of hotel. Prices for the treatments (spa) a little on the higher price. Sauna & steam room need updating. No tea or coffee facilities within the room.

Lovely boutique hotel on a hillside with spectacular views of the Atlantic and the nearby beach on one side and a small marina on the other. Adult only which was a happy accident for my grown up daughter and me. Pool was fine, but metal ladder into pool a little bit wobbly so you have to be careful getting in and out. Sunbeds need updating as they are a bit worn and torn. Was lovely and quiet and relaxed, even during the second week of August, and if you got up early enough, you were guaranteed a sunbed. The beach was a 5 minute walk and also fabulous with beachside restaurant. It would have been nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room, but apart from that, rooms were clean and functional with AC and regular excellent cleaning service. Staff were lovely and accommodating. Hotel breakfast buffet had everything to set you up for the day. Not for anyone with mobility issues as hilly and lots of steps in the hotel and getting in and out of the pool would be a problem. A short taxi ride to the new town if you need a buzz and within walking distance to all the shops and restaurants in the old town. Will definitely be back.
