A real oasis of calm in Tavira, with rooms in the old barracks.
The building is accessed by a dirt road in the middle of fields planted with almond trees. You will then find a fort with imposing walls surrounded by vegetation and a large doorway. Ring the bell, we'll come and open the door with a smile, in French. It is a real oasis of calm. The rooms are set up in the former barracks, powder magazines and stables of the fort, in an ecological spirit by using traditional solutions to protect themselves from heat.

Great communication with Rita. Friendly and warm welcome by our host Miguel and very informative. The Forte, grounds and its history were all fantastic. Tranquil and off the beaten track. I liked that there were no children in sight, which would have affected the peaceful surroundings. We enjoyed exploring on foot and cycling (bikes can be hired from A Bicicleteria). The bacon at breakfast is something else (smokey and salty - super tasty) - I'm a coeliac with an allergy to nuts, so really appreciated the bacon and poached egg. The pool and views of the cabanas were stunning. All guests were respectful of one another, apart from our extremely noisy neighbours (in Room 9) for the next two nights of our stay, which deprived us of some needed sleep. This could have been avoided if they didn't open the doors and windows while dragging furniture around, slamming doors and arguing early hours of the morning puffing on their cigarettes (our friends who were also staying in the other building could hear them too)! We will be back, however, we just hope those neighbours aren't there next time! I forgot to write in the guest book but can do so next time we visit. Thank you to all the lovely staff.

For me the best hotel in Algarve. Good service, beautiful view of the ria formosa and beach have dimension. Super.
An exceptional place to spend a few days to have breakfast with views of Ria Formosa is unforgettable, then go to the beach with a small boat to cross the ria is a unique experience. I rarely seen such a clear water as the beach stretching from the other side of the ria, the water temperature is very pleasant.
