ERMIDA SÃO SEBASTIÃO
This church, which stands proudly in Rossio Square, is a fine example of the late Gothic and Mudejar styles.
The hermitage has stood proudly on Rossio Square since the early 16th century. A large parking lot has been built next to it, as well as a small square with a lovely view. This is both religious and popular architecture, a fine example of late Gothic and Mudejar styles, whose primary purpose was to protect the inhabitants from the plague. It's well worth a visit: after passing through the slightly pointed-arch portal, the interior features a ribbed vault and fine 17th-century frescoes.
