This church, classified as a National Monument, is a superb example of Manueline artistic expression.
Built in the 16th century by the architect Cristóvão de Almeida, this church, classified as a National Monument, is a superb example of Manueline artistic expression. Its magnificent Manueline portal stands out against the ochre-colored walls, with twisted columns with typical Manueline motifs represented in spheres flanking the shield of Portugal. Inside, one can admire the marble pulpit and the azulejos that line the choir.
