The fort of Revelim had as a function to watch the coast to protect the castle from attacks of pirates and corsairs.
Fort do Revelim, also known as Forte de Nossa Senhora das Salvas, is located near Cape Sines, in the far west of the bay. Its function was to monitor the coast to protect the castle from attacks by pirates and privateers, frequent on this coast. It was built in the 17th century, with other citadels along this coast according to the design of the architect Alexandre Massai. It consists of two small rooms and an outdoor area that some organizations privatize for different events.
