SAMOQUEIRA BEACH
This exceptional beach, about fifteen kilometers to the south, is charming with its pyramidal rocks.
The industrialization that has taken over the port of Sines could cast doubt on the country's natural qualities. Fortunately, this exceptional beach, some 15 km to the south, is ravishing, with its pyramidal rocks that have been fighting the swell since the dawn of time. The nearby parking lot offers easy access via a staircase that hugs the cliff. With erosion, it's best to stay in the center of the beach, where the sand is finest. It's a popular spot in summer, but by September it's virtually deserted.
