This is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Alentejo, if not the most beautiful. It consists of three crescents of sand nestling at the foot of the cliffs. At low tide, you can sit in the natural pools that form on the shore; at high tide, bathers push off to make way for surfers. To the north, a long staircase gives access to a discreet little cove. Also to the north, the beach is supervised and a few cafés and restaurants have sprung up. For greater peace and quiet, it's best to head south of the beach.
