MUSEU DO FRESCO
Museum housing the Virgem do Paraiso, an ivory statuette that presents the main scenes of Mary's life.
The old court, next to the church, houses the Museum of Sacred Art, and preserves a 14th century fresco representing the good judge on the left and the bad judge (devil on his shoulder) on the right. On the church square there is a stone pillar. The first one built under Afonso III in 1276 was rebuilt in Manueline style in 1512. It was the symbol of jurisdiction and autonomy of the council. In the museum you will see the Virgem do Paraiso, an ivory statuette that opens into a triptych and presents the main scenes of Mary's life.
