MENHIR ROCHA DOS NAMORADOS
Go there and contact
This natural granite monument, in a mushroom form, has become a fertility symbol. Later, under Christianity, it became a stop in the processions that took place in time of drought between the little chapel of Nossa Senhora do Rosario and the village of the Bush (now São Pedro de Corval). According to a ritual still practised today, unmarried girls, according to a pagan reproductive rite, come here on Easter Monday to try to throw a stone on the top of the menhir and know when they marry. When they miss their goal, this means an additional year of waiting.
