MUSEU FREI MANUEL DO CENÁCULO
This museum houses three beautiful recumbents, including the sarcophagus of Fernão Gonçalves Cogominho with an almost Assyrian face.
The visit begins with the cloister and three beautiful recumbents, including the sarcophagus of Fernão Gonçalves Cogominho (14th century) with an almost Assyrian face. Behind it, a beautiful sculpture of great simplicity represents the Trinity: the dove (the Holy Spirit) flows from the beard of God the Father to touch with its beak the crown of the Son (15th century). A little further on, a magnificent Silenus from the 1st or 2nd century A.D., just beside a tombstone. A must see!
