This magnificent garden deserves a visit for the diversity of the vegetation it shelters, for its tranquility...
It is a magnificent garden, which seems to float above the city. One goes there for the diversity of the vegetation, for its tranquility, for the multiple surprises that it reserves to the curious: here the vestiges of a medieval wall, there a couple of peacocks doing cartwheels, further on ruins that turn out to be... false ruins imagined by the architect of the park. But it is the Galeria das Damas that will fill your memories: this small corridor is all that remains of the enormous palace of King Manuel I, who wanted to make Évora the capital of his immense empire.
