LARGO DAS PORTAS DE MOURA
This elegant square is known for its amazing white marble fountain, sculpted by Diogo de Torralva.
This elegant square lies to the south-east of the cathedral, close to the city's original entrance. It is famous for its stunning white marble fountain, sculpted by Diogo de Torralva (1556). This Renaissance fountain has the rare characteristic of being spherical! To the south of the square stand Casa Cordovil, a 16th-century residence with an arcaded loggia designed in a Manueline-Moorish style, and Casa Soure, with an arcaded terrace.
