This pousada is part of a superbly restored 16th-century monastery with two cloisters and an azulejo-covered chapel. Contemporary furnishings and ancient stone blend harmoniously in well-equipped rooms with black and white marble bathrooms. Outside, there are swimming pools, a tennis court and horse-riding for the more sporty, or walks in the vast park where streams and paths meander. A bubble of serenity in a place steeped in history.
