ARRAIOLOS CASTLE
Go there and contact
From this castle remain its circular wall (something remarkable!) and its walled path, in perfect condition, which must be visited.
Only the surrounding wall and its walkway remain, but everything is in perfect condition. This wall has the particularity of being surprisingly circular and regularly crenellated, giving an atypical silhouette to the castle. Built in 1306 to defend the village, the castle was abandoned in the 14th century. He was ceded to the noble Nuno Alvares Pereira, appointed Count of Arraiolos. At the end of the 16th century, the castle was still inhabited, but it was abandoned again the following century and then damaged by the 1755 earthquake.
