CASTELO DE EVORAMONTE
From the top of this fortress, perched on the top of a high hill, you can see a beautiful panorama of the region.
This remarkable fortress is perched on top of a high hill. It was here that the convention was signed on May 26, 1834, which put an end to the civil war between liberals and absolutists. First Roman, then Arab, the castle was rebuilt in 1160 in a Gothic style, then enlarged in the following centuries in a very particular style. The structure is surrounded by two enormous stone ropes forming knots in the center. Its rooms are covered with Gothic vaults. From the top of the fortress, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the region.
