Alentejo is the most famous wine region of Portugal where you will discover amazing wines that have nothing to envy our Bordeaux. The wines are bus generally old and are excellent conservation, sun and degree forces. Among the best than I could taste and pay, I will mention: Mouchâo, Herdade de Pinhero held Marquès de Borba, L'EA and Quinta do Carmo is part of the estates Rothschild who bought the property and displays the plantation cork oak trees to produce jams especially designed for Château Lafite, 1st listed grand cru Pauillac. All red wines of Alentejo are good and full-bodied, generous and rounds in mouths. I less good on the white and in particular the sparkling, but it is a matter of taste... In any case, that is worth the detour.
