Since 1981, this restaurant has been showcasing the flavors of the Alentejo region in a convivial dining room that seems designed for huge banquets with dozens of guests. But if you've travelled far to push open the door of the "white gold", it's for the dogfish with clams(çação com ameijoas) and asparagus in breadcrumbs(migas de espargos), cooked with hard bread in pork fat. If that doesn't inspire you, order grilled pork or wild boar with white beans, admittedly not very light but devilishly tasty.

Ouro Blanco m'a séduit par la qualité de sa cuisine. Un vrai régal. Un des meilleurs retos à Vila Viçosa.
